Central Cincinnati Parents
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to create a space for friendship, community building, education, and support for parents, caregivers, infants, and children in the Cincinnati area. We do this by hosting events that include regular playgroups, family outings, parent-only social events, and educational opportunities.
Club Objectives
-
Provide socialization opportunities: Strive to create an environment that gives parents the opportunity to “find their people”.
-
Provide peer support: Create an environment that encourages parents to seek help and advice for one another without fear of judgment. We do this by hosting events that encourage friendship and communication; providing a platform for online communication (GroupMe); and offering our Meals for Members program (a program in which our members can ask our members for assistance by requesting food during times of struggle).
-
Organize family/children’s events and outings: We offer regular playgroups; walking groups (seasonal); opportunities for family outings (ex. attending local events and attractions as a group); and plan seasonal events (ex. breakfast with Santa, ice cream socials, etc.) to provide fun and build community for children and caregivers alike.
-
Host adult-only events and outings: We give our adult members the opportunity to socialize outside of a family setting by organizing events such as Dads Nights Out, Moms Nights Out, Grownups Nights Out, game nights, and book club/podcast club.
-
Provide educational opportunities: We give members the opportunity to gain knowledge of topics related to children and family through our speaker series. Topics have included but are not limited to: child development, estate planning for families, applying Montessori philosophies at home, etc
Board Roles and Responsibilities
-
President(s): Presidents run the ins-and-outs of the group. They oversee all board positions, ensuring that the board members are performing their duties for the good of the group. They are responsible for overseeing website management, email account, and coordinating meals-for-members nominations. Presidents are also responsible for forwarding pertinent information to board members and general members, alike. They are also in charge of taking over board responsibilities for positions that have not been filled.

Co-chairs are responsible for choosing the playgroup schedule and planning, attending, and informing members via our website/email blast. If a playgroup chair cannot make their scheduled playgroup date/time they should try to find somebody to cover or reach out to their co-chair to rearrange schedules. They are also responsible for making playgroup attendees feel included and welcome.
-
Enrichment Chair(s): These co-chairs organize a handful of events related to special interests: book clubs, podcast clubs, educational speaker series, etc. Speaker series may include parenting and non-parenting topics alike. Book clubs and podcast clubs are typically related to topics of interest/general pleasure but can also include books related to child development and parenting techniques. These events ideally happen every 1-2 months and are for adults only.
-
Social Events Chair(s): The events chairs plan/host social outings. These gatherings can be family outings; dads-only outings; moms-only outings; or couples/grownups only outings.
